The effectiveness of governance, leadership and management
"The quality of the curriculum, teaching and students’ achievement exceeds expectations. Students receive an excellent education in keeping with the school’s aims. Through rigorous placement testing in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, students are accurately placed for their level in each skill and settle quickly into school life. There is flexibility to move between levels and skills if required.
The quality of the teaching is outstanding and ensures students make excellent progress. Teachers are highly qualified, very experienced and have excellent subject knowledge.
Lesson planning is detailed and thorough with due attention to students’ needs. Assessment procedures rigorously monitor student progress.
The weekly staff meeting to discuss student progress is highly effective in ensuring all staff share information with regard to monitoring of student progress and well being. Progress and achievement are excellent. A varied cultural and social programme enhances students’ overall experience.
In discussion, students reported overwhelming appreciation of all staff’s support for them. Many students extend their stay or return for a second or third visit to the school, testimony to the wholehearted commitment of staff and overall positive experience of the students."
